The Global Education First Initiative (GEFI) reception was held on the 26th of September, 2013 in New York to launch the Learning Metrics Task Force (LMTF) assigned to make recommendations on how learning should be measured, and how this measurement can improve education quality and outcomes, and the overall learning experiences of children and youth around the world.

I read this article in today's (Wednesday 18 September) NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/18/nyregion/in-new-york-having-a-job-or-2...) and thought I would share it here for anyone interested in this and looking at discussing the issue of homeless people who are employed.

Over the last few weeks many of you have heard of the #idlenomore movement. It has garnered support internationally and has brought forth light to the inequality that exists in Canada. Here is some reserach I have completed on the movement. It can be hard to understand and this is only the tip of the iceburg so to speak. There are many issues in Canada that have yet to be resolved.

Sad what has been in the news about the raping of a 23 yr old student in India and the subsequent protests. Can please some1 from TERI give us a clearer picture of what the situation is like?
